Tire Recycling Program

Tires are an ideal breeding site for several species of mosquitos, especially ones that are vectors of disease. Tires fill with rain water and collect leaf litter, thus providing an incubator for mosquito larvae. Our Tire Recycling Program allows us to remove and dispose of discarded and forgotten, tires from wetlands, which decreases potential for disease outbreak. Read more about the Tire Recycling Program in the Wetlands Management Department.
