Barrier Treatment

To reduce the need for repeated applications and provide more sustained relief from mosquitoes in high public use areas, the District may recommend a “barrier spray treatment”. This application would be made to public use areas such as schools (applications to schools must be in compliance with MGL Ch. 85), playgrounds, athletic fields, and parks. A barrier spray is an application to the surrounding vegetation and may reduce mosquito presence for two or more weeks (weather dependent). The District encourages member municipalities take advantage of this service when and where necessary.
