IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING PROPERTY EXCLUSIONS DURING EFFORTS TO ADDRESS EASTERN EQUINE ENCEPHALITIS (EEEv) IN MASSACHUSETTS IN SEPTEMBER 2019

The State Reclamation Board has voted to accept the certification made by the Commissioner of the Department of Public pursuant to pesticide applications conducted for public health. This certification voids all property exclusions in impacted areas of the state, including the Northeast Massachusetts Mosquito Control District. The certification currently is in effect until September 30, 2019.

If you are requesting to be excluded from wide area applications of pesticides, due to the fact that the Commissioner of the Department of Public Health has certified that the application of pesticides is to be made to protect public health pursuant to 333 CMR 13.03(3)(b), exclusions shall not be honored in all land within the following counties: Bristol, Essex, Franklin, Hampshire, Hampden, Middlesex, Norfolk, Plymouth, and Worcester Counties. This waiver shall apply to all applications of pesticide made under the authority of the State Reclamation and Mosquito Control Board, including aerial applications, and ground applications performed by Mosquito Control Projects and Districts done in an effort to address Eastern Equine Encephalitis (EEEv) through September 30, 2019.
